GasLog’s newest liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier, with a working name Hull 2801, has been launched at Hyundai Heavy Industries in Ulsan, South Korea.
The 174,000-cbm LNG tanker is scheduled to be delivered to its owner in 2018.
Monaco-based GasLog signed in July last year a time-charter contract for the LNG newbuild with a unit of French energy giant Total.
Total will charter the vessel from GasLog for a period of seven years, starting in mid-2018.
Through its unit GasLog LNG Services, the LNG shipping company operates 24 LNG carriers including 12 wholly owned vessels, 9 vessels owned by GasLog Partners, and 3 vessels owned or leased by LNG giant Shell.
