Under the agreement, Samskip’s two fully LNG-powered vessels Samskip Kvitbjorn and Samskip Kvitnos will bunker at Gasum’s Risavika LNG terminal in Norway.
Samskip Kvitbjorn and Samskip Kvitnos perform liner shipping between Rotterdam and Norway, traveling all the way to Europe’s most northern town Hammerfest.
The vessels are equipped with Rolls Royce single fuel LNG engines.
Commenting on the agreement, Samskip CEO Kari-Pekka Laaksonen, said, “Bunkering LNG in Risavika is a great asset to us and vastly improves our bunker network”.
Gasum noted that its LNG facility is located 200 meters from the quayside allowing LNG bunkering operations directly from the plant through a loading arm.
Gasum added it is also supporting Samskip’s door-to-door logistics on land and at sea.
