Crowley Maritime’s liquefied natural gas services group has been awarded a multi-year contract to supply additional volumes of containerized, U.S.-sourced LNG to a pharmaceutical company’s manufacturing plants in Puerto Rico.
Through its unit, Carib Energy, Crowley extended its 2014 contract for the supply and transportation of LNG.
Liquefied natural gas from U.S.-based liquefaction facilities will be transported in 10,000-gallon ISO tanks to the company’s shipping terminal in Jacksonville, Florida.
Once in Jacksonville, the tanks will be loaded onto company-owned vessels departing for Puerto Rico, where it will be delivered to the customer’s facilities.
There the LNG will be re-gasified into pipeline natural gas for boiler consumption.
